FPSO for BW Offshore
BW Pioneer is being converted from a tanker to a turret-moored FPSO. The water depth at the location is approximately 2600 meters. This project is unique, as it will be the first FPSO in US Gulf of Mexico.


Responsible for hull and topside structural engineering, technical documentation and drawings for class approval during conversion from tanker to an FPSO, including:

  • Structural integration of a turret in the forward part of the ship
  • Longitudinal strength calculations
  • Spectral fatigue assessment
  • Weight and stability analysis
  • Structural design and verification of topside module skids and supports
  • Flare tower
  • Crane foundations
  • Helicopter deck
  • Offloading
  • Bow thrusters
  • P and I.D. for utility systems
